PDFScanner - Scanning and OCR App Reviews

Great app! Picks up where my printer/scanner manufacturers left off with their crappy bundled software. - Main interface is simple and quick to use. - De-skew and OCR are fast. - Great for scanning multi-page documents to PDF on my flat-bed scanner at home. - Works with automator and apple script - which lets me monitor my network folder for my networked scanner at work. Well worth the price. It has saved me many hours and is a key part of my workflow in my paperless office.

I emailed the developer inadvance to find out if this app would do what I wanted - which is scan document pages as PDF and have legible images at a small size. It works perfectly and as I wanted and the interface is so much better than the terrible software that comes with scanners, in my case, a Samsung 3200 series. It is sad that an army of people who work for either Samsung or Apple cannot make a decent scanning app like this one. Worth the money, no question.

It does what it says. This sounds nothing but not that many apps can follow. 1. It searches my scanner in a second, once the scanner connects to WIFI. Much faster than Image Capture. 2. The scanning process is fast and rubust. 3. OCR works well, at least for the normal ducuments that I have tested so far. I do not need to use Acrobat to OCR any more. No waiting time either. 4. Running the app itself is smooth, no lagging or something else.

Recently switched from Windows to Mac and lost an unexpected amount of functionality in Adobe Acrobat. This app solved my immediate problem, and works exactly as advertised. Would recommend it to anyone.

Ever since I upgraded to El Captian, I am only getting BLACK pages.. Not sure.. Image Capture works just fine though,,,

I’ve gone all digital for 2015 and this fits the bill for personal and business documents, you can reorder your pdf’s as well! NO MORE PAPER!

This is my goto program for scanning everything from bills to books to pictures. The ONLY thing I don’t like about the program is switching from ADF to flatbed. Two simple buttons on the lower bar would take care of this problem. HINT HINT!.

I have gone through a number of PDF scanning solutions and kept on looking for something that actually worked and had all the features useful for scanning to PDFs. Than I found PDF Scanner and have not looked elsewhere since. It is fast, reliable, generates good quality scans, has all the reordering options including “fake duplex”, and it generates impressively well compressed BW PDFs.

I use this appliation daily and it works very well. Lightweight, effective, well behaved. All around an excellent tool.

I have this scan program paired with a Epson GT-S50, and all I have to say it is a powerful combination, and am able to do high volumes of scanning quickly, easy, efficiently. I would highly recommend this program to anybody looking to back up small to large volumes of material.

I’ve been using it for the past year. It’s the best scanning app for mac, ever! It will actually help you scan double sided documents even if your scanner doesn’t support it using the “fake duplex” function. Best money ever spent!

This is my go-to App anytime I need to scan something and create a PDF file. It works well with my Canon MX410 printer/scanner. I really like the “Fake Duplex” feature which allows me to scan double-sided originals and create PDF copies with all of the pages in the correct order.

It works perfectly! And you can import from your files a text in PDF image and to convert it with OCR to a text in PDF text editable :-)) Thank you!

Very good PDF application based on quick picture image driver so it means, to use it you have to disable previous apps working on Twain. In version 1.11.4 (87) there’s a small problem if you have installed Canon colour printer (iP7200) without scanner together with another flatbed scanner (like Epson v30). After opening the App it shows a communicate „there is no software for the scanner” (although the printer was not a scanner) but nevertheless it will work with the other device. Just a small bug to be improved.

easy to use, it offers good results in scanning and archiving documents. It lacks image controls (i.e. brightness, contrast) found in Mac OSX Image capture App.

Great software, but it takes several clicks to perform the function I use the most, i.e. turning normal PDFs into searchable PDFs through the OCR process. It would be great if I could just drag a PDF into the apps icon in the dock and hat PDF scanner perform OCR on those PDFs for me. Four stars for now: five if the developers listen to my humble suggestion ;-)

Developer keeps constantly updating the app and offer great support! i use it in a small office and it works great facile è veloce da usare costantemente supportata la usiamo in un piccolo ufficio e va che è unameraviglia!

Works great! Would have given 5 starts if it auto-rotated documents when using the ‘Fake Duplex’ feature.
