PDFScanner - Scanning and OCR App Reviews

Javais de grands espoirs avec cette appli, moi qui en cherche une unique et simple pour scanner des documents administratifs et les traiter en OCR. Mais cet OCR ne fonctionne pas assez bien pour être vraiment exploitable. Notamment, il supprime des espaces entre les mots. Il nest vraiment pas au niveau, comparé à Prizmo ou Abby (avec les mêmes documents et les mêmes réglages de scanner), qui ne me conviennent pas non plus pour dautres raisons. Je suppose que je viens juste de prendre 12 euro :-( I had great hope with this app, as Im searching for a simple and single app able to scan administrative documents and do OCR. But OCR does definitely not work fine enough to be usable. Especially, it misses some spaces between words. Its really not on par with Prizmo or Abbyy (using the exact same documents and scan settings), which dont fit my needs for other reasons. I guess I just lost 12 euro… :-(

this is an easy to use scanner programm that does everything the OSX native application cant do (or only in a cumbersome way). Exactly what I was looking for.

This software is awful. It simply does not work. It is much worthy to buy the VueScan. Este software é uma porcaria. Ele simplesmente não funciona. Vale muito mais a pena comprar o VueScan.

The price makes one suspicious at first sight but the results are more than what you pay for. HP has no new software for the office jet 6500 under El Capitain and the standard system scanner interface did not allow me have an auto select for the scan source. With PDF Scanner it was there again! With the free OCR software that was delivered with the HP software for creating searchable pdfs I could not print them on my old HP Laserjet 4000TN printer since it could not decypher the data sent to it and crashed. Now with PDF Scanner I can print the pdf files that are searchable on my old drucker again. Its all like MAGIC and for this price and MADE IN GERMANY. Keep it up Felix

When I bought my scanner, I didnt like the software that came with it, so I bougth this app. This app is way more simpler and the features like the OCR or the fake duplex is awesome and handy. The only thing missing is a tool to adjust the contrast or the color of your scanned pages. If they add this, I would rate this app 5 stars for sure.

This app does what it promises: it scans to PDF efficiently and at reasonable file sizes with good readability and clarity. The OCR is quite good. Im using it to archive documents from a filing cabinet. The Fake Duplex feature works very well too.

Very simple, works great. Such a relief after suffering with Apples image capture application.

My first test was perfect, OCR 100%. Highly recommended.

In the past, Ive paid much more, but this app is doing exactly what it says: scanning and OCR for a reasonnable price.

Works well, simple to use. As far as I am concerned, this is a "must have."

Good product. It comes in very handy. I use it a lot. I feel it is one of the best I have purchased from the Mac store.

With along side evernote, hazel and my scanner - Ive been able to go pretty much paperless, its its super super easy. PDFScanner was immediately able to find my wireless scanner on my homenetwork, and even knows to tell the scanner to use the document feeder, not just the flip lid scanning mechanism. OCR is seamless, and rather fast. Great piece of software!

Very easy to understand right out of the box. Set your scan settings, then away you go. Some nice features like fake duplex. Works with my wireless net very nicely using an HP multifunction printer/scanner (OfficeJet pro 8600). Be nice if you could save preferences, but Im sure the developers read these reviews… :-) Just buy this app if you need to scan to PDF. Works like a charm!

Right out of the gate, this app recognized my network printer. I then threw a 40 page PDF I previously scanned and within a few minutes, the OCR was complete and useable. Its great to have these cost effective tools that work so well! Well done.

Works reasonably well; would appreciate if it produced smaller PDFs, even if they are already smaller than what the default Apple scanning software produces. Also PDFScanner seems to have difficulties finding the scanner if we start it after printing on our all-in-one HP 6280 -- need to power-cycle the multifunction printer before PDF Scanner can see it again.

Its a perfect simple app. But it takes forver to save a few pages scanned. Hope this improves in the next version

I love the Fake Duplex option for scanning from my automatic sheet feeder.
